When should I request a quote?

You can request a quote at any time. It doesn't matter if you do not have a moving date yet or an exact address for the new property - we are happy to issue a fixed quote in advance. If any details change after the quote has been provided, you can let us know rather than complete a new form. If you are unsure of the amount of boxes/bags to move, you can estimate and confirm nearer the time. If you need a copy of your form, please ask us.

Can you give me an estimate of price?

We can give you a guide price via email or over the phone. For an accurate price, please fill out the quote form online.

Which locations do you cover?

Although we are based in Blackburn we cover Lancashire, Manchester and most areas in the North West, including but not limited to Blackburn, Manchester, Bolton, Wigan, Bradford, Oldham, Cumbria, Blackpool, Lancaster and Preston. We carry out local and long distance removals (depending on size) within the UK (excluding Northern Ireland).

Do I need to pay a deposit?

We don't normally require a deposit to be paid, but we reserve the right to request one.

When should I book my removal?

It is best to book as soon as you know your moving date, as the diary can fill up quite quickly (although sometimes we are available at short notice). We operate on a first come first served basis and usually about 2/3 weeks notice is sufficient. We don't take provisional bookings, so please only book your removal once the date has been confirmed. Most house sales complete on Fridays, so we would ask you to avoid this day if possible if you are not in this situation.

Can I move at the weekend?

We carry out removals Monday to Friday. We are closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Do you offer an hourly rate or day rate?

We offer an hourly rate, daily rate, price per load or a fixed price quote. Most customers prefer a fixed price which can be obtained by completing the quotation form on our website. Please contact us to enquire about the other options.

Can you dismantle and reassemble furniture?

We don't automatically include this service as standard, but it is something we can usually do. Please mention this when requesting a quote and provide us with details.

Do you move pianos?

We can move upright pianos to and from the ground floor, and we ensure that great care is taken at all times. We don't move grand pianos.

Do I have to empty drawers?

You can normally leave them full unless there are heavy or breakable items in them, provided the furniture is sturdy. Drawers in some self-assembly furniture may need to be emptied, as the furniture is not always that sturdy.

Will you move items from my loft?

We can only do this if the loft is properly lit, floored and safe access is provided.

Will you put my furniture where I want?

We will put items in the room of your choice and where you want them placing. Please bear in mind that we are unable to keep rearranging furniture though, so it might be useful to have a plan of where items are going to go.

Do I arrange parking?

We normally need to park within 10m of an accessible doorway. If parking is an issue or if there are restrictions you will need to make arrangements such as reserving space for us or contacting the local council to arrange for a suspension or dispensation. Any parking fines must be paid by you. If you reserve space, please remember that we need more length than the van itself to manoeuvre into place.

Are there any items you cannot move?

There are some items we cannot move, including but not limited to gas bottles, flammable liquids, paint, jewellery or animals.

Are you insured?

All quotes automatically include insurance as standard. For full details please see our Terms and Conditions and your quotation email.

Do you offer a packing service?

We don't offer a full packing service. We will use transit blankets to protect furniture and items in when they are in transit. You would need to box and bag items yourself ready for us to move them.

We've used Happy Days Removals twice, and both times, the movers have been professional, efficient, and importantly, very nice. We were able to relax during the move knowing that the movers would work smoothly. Would definitely recommend them over other (more expensive) removals companies!

Late notice availability big plus. Easy online booking which means no site visit needed. Guys arrived well in advance of the time and had the job done in no time at all meaning I had spare time to clean house before key handover. Very Happy customer and would use again.
